Island Hopping Through Thailand
Thailand; an island hoppers dream vacation and the destination that is probably on the top of everyones bucket-list to travel to, well at least for me it was. Many people assume that Thailand is so expensive to vacation to that they settle for it remaining a dream on their list of must see's. Oh how far from the truth that is. I was blessed with the chance to visit my #1 destination while living in China and besides the flight island hopping around Thailand was actually pretty affordable, and that's coming from an American English teacher's once a month Chinese salary.
If that last statement doesn't motivate you to get on the next flight to Thailand than I hope these photos do...Enjoy!
Things To Do:
Emeralds Pool, Krabi. I woke up at 7am to be the first and ONLY person at the pool as soon as it opened at 9am. The early start to your day is defiantly worth the quiet serenity you'll experience being solo. Entrance fee: $5USD/ 200THB
Interact with an elephant The only thing I wanted to do while in Thailand was ride an elephant. And for the whopping price of $25USD/900THB I was able to ride, feed, and bath an elephant at National Park at Phanom Bencha.
Koh Phi Phi Island is a must to visit while in Thailand. Take a day trip or stay overnight just hop on the ferry from Krabi or Phuket for about $10-$15USD/400-500THB. There is also an extra entrance fee of $5USD/200 THB to stay on the island.
Rent a private boat Sure I could have saved a few bucks if I would have booked a group tour with 10 other people but then my boyfriend would have never been able to snap this amazing solo photo of me. We split the cost and rented a private long tail boat for $85-100USD/3-4K THB. The upside: we designed our own private tour by eliminating places we weren't that interested in seeing and spent more time relaxing and feeding monkeys.
Explore Koh Phi Phi Island- Koh Phi Phi is not just all partying, fire jump roping, shopping, and drinking. Located on the opposite side of the island you can find quiet, peaceful serenity.Rantee Cliff Beach Resorts was the perfect dose of relaxation that I needed after a night of pool and beach parties.
Hike to see the sunset/viewpoint- Rise and shine, 4am to be exact! Hiking in pitch black darkness with nothing but a cellphone for light ended up being a lot scarier than I thought. But 50 mosquito bites later climbing to the top of Koh Phi Phi Island to see the sunrise was absolutely incredible.
